The key thing at the moment is to make sure there are clear lines of progression so teachers can move children on their learning. This needs to be balanced with coverage of the curriculum - with breadth and depth. Textbooks are always useful as a resource for teachers to use to support their teaching, and they can provide the practice and reinforcement for children to consolidate their learning.
As I said, publishers are working on new resources for schools, so no rush unless they are desperately needed. This is rather a short answer, but I'll review what is available for September.
